Syrian team to play friendly match in Baghdad Tuesday

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Football Team will play its first friendly match in Baghdad against the Syrian Counterpart next Tuesday afternoon after the decision of the FIFA related to lifting the embargo imposed on Iraqi stadiums.

The match will be led by Jordanian team of referees.

The secretary General of the Iraqi Football Association Tariq Ahmed stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The IFA received on Friday the approval of the FIFA and the AFC to hold the friendly match on Shaab Stadium next Tuesday.”

“The Syrian team will arrive in Baghdad on Sunday,” he added.

“IFA calls all satellite channels willing to broadcast the match to visit the headquarters of the Association on Sunday to review the conditions set by IFA,” Ahmed concluded.
