Hakim, Turkish Ambassador discuss political updates

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, confirmed the necessity of conducting the Provincial Councils elections in all the provinces in time.

A statement by the SIIC cited “Hakim received the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq and stressed during the meeting the importance of reconsidering the decision of the Government over postponing the PCs elections in Anbar and Nineveh provinces.”

“Both sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the political updates in Iraq,” the statement added.

“Both sides emphasized responding to the demands of the Iraqis according to the constitution and the law,” the statement concluded.
