Anbar people ready to participate in next local elections, says official

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Iraqi Presidency Council, Nasir al-Ani stressed that “Anbar people are fully ready to participate in the next local elections.”

A statement by Ani’s office quoted him as saying during his official visit to Ana district of Anbar province “The security situation in Anbar is more stable than the other Iraqi provinces where the province’s people are fully willing to give their votes in the upcoming local elections.”

“The political situation in most of the Iraqi provinces is very serious therefore all the political blocs and the tribal figures should exert efforts to upgrade the country’s general situation,” he added.
