Parliament to summon Maliki, security leaders on next Monday

The Iraqi parliament decided to summon the Premier, Nouri al- Maliki, and the security leaders on next Monday session to discuss the recent security events.

A statement by the parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi reported on Tuesday “Nijaifi chaired a meeting on Tuesday comprising heads and representatives of the political blocs where they discussed the decision of postponing the local elections in Anbar and Nineveh in addition to discussing the recent surge of violence in Iraq.”

“Nijaifi also decided to summon the Independent High Electoral Commission’s members and leaders of the security commissions in Anbar and Nineveh along with State Minister for Provinces and Nineveh and Anbar Governors on next Saturday session,” the statement concluded.
