Zarkani denies requesting Turkish assistance to divide oil revenues between CG, Kurdistan RegionG

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Oil and Energy Committee in Parliament, Fatima al-Zarkani, denied the statements of the Turkish Energy Minister who mentioned that “Turkey played a vital role in dividing the oil revenues between the Central Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government,” saying that “Iraq did not and will never ask from Turkey to settle its internal disputes.”

MP Zarkani said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com “The statements of the Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yeldiz came without request from Iraq which is considered interference in the Iraqi affairs.”

“Iraq is a sovereign country and has a constitution to regulate dividing the revues between CG and Kurdistan RegionG,” MP Zarkani added, noting that “The Turkish Minister should avoid interfering in Iraqi internal affairs.”

Yeldiz has stated last Friday “Turkey is ready to support arrangements that include granting Baghdad Government 83% from oil revenues and the rest would go Kurdistan RegionG.”
