Kurdish MP describes UNAMI’s role in Iraq as “Negative”
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Latif Mustafa, of the Change bloc criticized the role of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq headed by the UN’s Special Representative, Martin Kobler.
In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Thursday, he said “We do not depend on the UNAMI in Iraq where it did not help any country that it is in,” noting that “The role of the UN is not supporting Iraq and they are wasting time in settling the crises and increase them.”
“In Iraq, we should depend on ourselves to settle the crises rather than depending on Kobler and others,” he added, assuring that “I think that the role of the UNAMI is negative in Iraq because it did not achieve anything yet.”
“I do not want to underestimate it, but I want to know what did it do in Iraq?” he concluded.
