MoI Undersecretary, Kobler discuss mutual cooperation

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Interior Ministry Undersecretary, Adnan al-Asadi, discussed with the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative for Iraq, Martin Kobler, a number of mutual issues besides discussing the cooperation that helps sustain the stability in Iraq.

A statement by the ministry cited “Kobler expressed his tribute and appreciation for all the employees of the Interior Ministry who are participating in achieving security and stability for their country, congratulating them on the success of the local elections’ special voting devoted for the security elements.”

“For his part, Asadi welcomed Kobler’s call to visit the prisons of the ministry by the United Nations committees, stressing that “The ministry welcomes receiving the committees from different organizations as it is earnest in applying the international norms in field of respecting the detainees’ rights,” according to the statement.
