Maysan (IraqiNews.com) The earthquakes meteorological and weather monitoring authority in Maysan province announced that “Maysan province was not affected by the earthquake that hit southwestern Iran and part of Basra province, noting that “The province is probably to expose to aftershocks through the next [24] hours.”

The authority said in a statement to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Nothing was in the province of Maysan about the earthquake that hit southwestern Iran and part of Basra province in the south part of Iraq,” warning that “The province is expected to be affected, during the next [24] hours, to aftershocks.”

The authority called upon the concerned authorities in the province to take caution towards those earthquakes.

Today, more than 35 people had been killed due an initial toll of the earthquake that hit south-eastern Iran.

The earthquake measuring 8 degrees on the Richter scale hit Iran and was felt in the countries of the Arab Gulf.
