Hakim, Iranian FM discuss political situation

(IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed that “the recent events in Iraq were planned in advance.”

Hakim pointed out during his meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salihi, on sidelines of the Islamic Clergymen & Awakening Conference being held in Tehran “The developments witnessed by Iraq in recent were preplanned by foreign terrorist organizations to abort the overwhelming victory made by the Iraqi people in the local elections.”

He stressed “the necessity to reach agreements among the Iraqi political sides to end the current crisis via dialogue.”

The SIIC head praised “the extinctive relations between Baghdad and Tehran.”

For his part, the Iranian FM confirmed “the need to adopt dialogue and peaceful approach among the political parties so as to settle the problems.”
