AIN publishes human casualties statistics during April

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The statistics prepared by IraqiNews.com regarding the victims due to violence during past April revealed that “The number of human casualties reached (1679) deaths and injuries which represent three times more than the number announced by media outlets from official directorates which was (500) deaths and injuries.”According to IraqiNews.com statistics “About (509) persons were killed and (1170) were wounded according to the statements issued by security sources at that time although the human casualties may increase since many wounded people have died.”The official statistics reported a questionable number since it announced that number of terrorists who were killed was (27) terrorists while the security sources report the escape of terrorists after each terrorist operation.

The statistics of IraqiNews.com reveal that Iraq has witnessed (290) armed attacks that took place in (14) provinces where Nineveh got the biggest share with (73) armed attacks followed by Anbar, Salah-il-Din, Kirkuk, Diyala, Baghdad, Babel, Wasit, Basra and others provinces occupied the last rank. The UN Mission to Iraq described the violence casualties of April as the deadliest since June 2008 and announced statistics, without identifying the sources for setting the statistics, that (712) persons were killed and (1,633) were wounded due to terrorist operations and violence. \END\
