IHEC participates in UN meeting regarding women human rights

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A delegation of The Independent High Electoral Commission IHEC participated in the round table meeting which was held under the auspices of the United Nations in Iraq with the attendance of representatives of official authorities and civil society organizations as well as the media outlets.The IHEC reported in statement received by IraqiNews.com ”The meeting was held under the title of (The role of media outlets in promoting the women rights in Iraq) at the headquarter of UN mission in Baghdad on Wednesday evening.””The UN Secretary General’s Special Representative to Iraq, Martin Kobler, delivered a welcoming speech in which he praised the role of IHEC in promoting the participation of Iraqi women in elections process,” the statement added.It is worth mentioning, The IHEC worked to support Iraqi women in the elections process whether as a candidate or as a voter. \END\
