PUK: Issue of Kurdistan Region Presidential elections seems complicated

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) The Spokesman of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Azad Jindiani, said “There are differences in visions about the issue of the constitution draft which was approved by the Parliament in its previous round and it was not put to referendum due to political reasons and the key point of the difference with the Kurdistan Democratic Party lays in the consensus issue.”

A statement by the PUK received by IraqiNews.com quoted Jindiani as saying “The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan supports the carrying of amendments on the constitution draft but all political parties must agree on these amendments.”

The statement added “Asked about his Party’s position from the issue of Barzani’s nomination to a third term Jindiani assured that the issue of the Kurdistan Region Presidential elections seems complicated due to the existence of legal and constitutional problematic also need to consensus.”
