IHEC reviews its preparations for conducting Kurdistan Region elections

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Independent High Electoral Commission held a press conference at building of Kurdistan Region’s Electoral body to review the preparations for the presidential and parliamentary elections in the Region.

Head of the Commissioners Board, Sarbast Mustafa said during a press conference held at Kurdistan Region’s Electoral body “The IHEC is ready to conduct the presidential and parliamentary elections of Kurdistan on its scheduled date 21/9/2013.”

“After identifying the date for conducting these elections we held a meeting to discuss the agenda set for these elections where we identified 16/6/2013 a date for updating the voters register,” he added.

Kurdistan Region elections will be conducted according to the former law and it will be in closed lists, also we demanded IQD 37,380,000000, a budget for these elections.
