Former VP, Iranian top official discuss common cooperation

(IraqiNews.com) Secretary of the Iranian Supreme Council for National Security, Saeed Jalili stressed that “Iran is ready to expand the prospects of the strategic cooperation with Iraq.”

Iranian Muhr News Agency reported that “During his receiving the leading figure within the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council and former Vice President, Adil Abdul Mahdi, who is visiting Tehran currently, Jalili expressed his satisfaction over the success of the local elections of Iraq, confirming at the same time, that the progress of Iraq depends on involving all the political parties in running the country.”

“Jalili highlighted the need to employ all financial and morale potentials for developing Iraq, noting “Iraq has the qualifications to consolidate its standing in the Arabic and Islamic surrounding,” according to the report.

“For his part, Mahdi emphasized Iran’s important role and standing in the region, describing Baghdad’s relations with Tehran as excellent,” the report concluded.
