Iraq FM rejects entry of armed groups to Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday “The government of Iraq does not permit the entry of any armed groups to Iraq’s territories because these groups might be exploited to destabilizes Iraq’s security and stability and harm the interests of the neighboring countries.”

A statement by the FM reported “The Iraqi government welcomes any compromise between Turkey and its opposition to stop the bloodshed and the violence via peaceful means, but at the same time, it rejects the entry of armed groups to Iraq as they may be used to destabilize the country’s security and target Iraq’s sovereignty. This attitude is based on the international law principles and Iraq’s Constitution.”
