Majeed calls government to take clear attitude towards Turkey’s violations on Iraq’s sovereignty

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Yassin Majeed of the State of Law Coalition called the government and the parliament to take clear attitude towards Turkey’s violations on Iraq’s a Sovereignty nd stability.

Majeed said in a press conference he held at the parliament building “Iraq welcomes any agreement between Turkey and its opposition, but not on account of Iraq’s sovereignty, describing this as historical mistake committed by the Turkish government.”

“We wonder if the government represented by the Foreign Ministry has an idea about the agreement that was held between Turkey and the PKK which states in the withdrawal of the PKK elements from the Turkish territories to their bases in Qindeel mountIraqiNews.coms on northern Iraq,” he added arguing “Turkey and its opposition have no right to utilize the Iraqi territories to settle their disputes.”

“A Seven- Side Committee had been formed between Iraq, Turkey and the USA over combating the armed operations done by the PKK, however, after the US withdrawal from Iraq, the responsibility of implementing this agreement was laid entirely on Iraq,” Majeed concluded.
