Chieftain survives assassination in Wasit

Wasit (IraqiNews.com) A chieftain of Shummar Tribe survived an assassination attempt to the north of Wasit province.

Security sources reported to IraqiNews.com Saturday “The chieftain of Shummar tribe, Raad Munem al-Batiekh, survived an assassination attempt whien unidentified gunmen opened fire targeting him while he was driving his vehicle near his house in Aziziya district of northern Wasit.”

The source added “Batiekh survived the assassination attempt but his vehicle and house were damaged due to the attack,” noting that “The gunmen escaped to unidentified destination.”
