Tayfour, Ambassador of Japan for Iraq discuss Iraqi-Japanese bilateral relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi parliament, Arif Tayfour discussed with the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Masato Takaoka, and his accompanying delegation, the most important events in the region.

Tayfour’s office reported on Sunday “Both sides discussed the most important regional issues where the Ambassador of Japan stressed his country’s eagerness to sustain the support for Iraq and welcomed the return of the Kurdish MPs and Ministers to their offices,” stressing “This attitude indicates the Kurdish leaders’ wisdom as it would pave the way for resolving the current political crisis.”

“Tayfour assured the importance of the Kurdish MPs and Ministers’ rejoining to the parliament and the government and the necessity to hold new meetings between Baghdad and Erbil to settle the pending issues between them,” the statement added.

“At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed on the need to upgrade the bilateral relations between Iraq and Japan and expand the prospects of cooperation in all fields, especially in the economic and cultural domains,” the statement pointed out.
