Maliki: Several measures to be taken to compensate affected people following floods

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki stressed that a group of procedures will be taken to compensate the effected people due to the floods witnessed by some provinces.

Maliki said during distributing the emergency funds to the affected people following the floods in Wasit province on Wednesday “Among the measures the Council of Ministers took is the reception of all the agricultural crops of wheat and barley from the farmers regardless of the rate of its wetness and damages, besides building housing complexes to the affected people.”

“The compensation will include the livestock that were subject to the floods’ damages,” he added.

The PM called the farmers in Wasit to make use of the interest-free agricultural loans presented by the Agricultural Initiative Commission.
