Araji criticizes specifying 20th of next June as date for PCs elections in Nineveh, Anbar

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Zuhair al-Araji, of the Hurra Iraqiya Slate criticized specifying 20th of next June as a date for conducting the Provincial Councils elections in Anbar and Nineveh provinces despite the security situation that is currently deteriorated more than the previous time in which decision of postponement was made.

He stated to IraqiNews.com “The deteriorated security situation was the main reason behind postponing the PCs elections in these two provinces while currently the escalated security breaches exceeded the previous times.”

“We are witnessing an escalated violence all over Iraq in general,” he added.

“We have contacted the employees of the Independent High Electoral Commission who expressed their concerns about the date which they considered as immature decision,” he mentioned.

He called “The IHEC to reconsider this date according to the demands of some political sides and the masses of Nineveh.”
