Barzani, Nijaifi discuss political flounder, security deterioration in Iraq

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani discussed with the parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, the current situation in Iraq.

A statement by Kurdistan Region Presidency reported “Barzani received on Wednesday Nijaifi and his accompanying delegation at Salah il-Din resort in Erbil.”

The statement added “The parliament Speaker talked about the current posture in Iraq and the security deterioration, the political flounder and power marginalization, stressing the necessity to redirect the political process to its right path.”

“For his part, Barzani expressed his deep concern over the political and security problems in Iraq,” noting that “He expected that the country is going to witness serious problems a year ago. Barzani argued that the source of all problems is the non-commitment to the Constitution and the ignorance of the partnership principle,” according to the statement.

“On other hand, the attendees tackled the ways to overcome the political crisis and how to stick to the partnership,” the statement concluded.
