Secret prisons belonging to former regime discovered underground mosque in Maysan

Maysan (IraqiNews.com) Hiteen Police Directorate in Ammara city, capital of Maysan province announced discovering prisons and secret cells belonging to the former regime underground Maysan Grand Mosque in central the province.

Director of Hiteen Police, Brig. Kadhim Nima told Iraqi News on Thursday “During an operation to demolish part of the Mosque for rehabilitation purposes, cells and secret prisons were found underground which proved to be belonging to the former regime.”

“The area of the cells ranges between two square meters to four square meters,” the Brig. Nima added.

The police director referred that “Maysan Grand Mosque was established at end of 1980s.”
