IHEC announces completing preparations to hold Nineveh, Anbar PCs’ elections

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Independent High Electoral Commission announced completing the preparations to hold the elections of the Provincial Councils of Anbar and Nineveh provinces.

A statement by the IHEC received by IraqiNews.com quoted the head of the Electoral Department within the IHEC, Muqdad al-Shirifi, as saying “The IHEC completed the logistic and artistic preparations to hold the elections of the PCs of Anbar and Nineveh province on the 20th of June,” assuring that “The preparations for the data input have been completed as well.”

“The IHEC received some primary reports form the security committee over the stability of the security situation to hold the elections on time,” he added.

For his part, the Commissioner, Suroor al-Hitawi, stated “The private voting for the security elements will be done on the 17th of June.”

“The number of the legitimate voters in the private elections that is for the security elements in Anbar province is 34 thousand voters, whereas in Nineveh province the number Is 60 thousand ones,” he added, noting that “The electoral centers for the displaced citizens who are more than nine thousand citizen, will be inaugurated in Erbil and Duhouk provinces.”
