Khuzaye, US official discuss political situation in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Vice President, Khudhair al-Khuzaye discussed with the senior Undersecretary of the US State Department, Brett, Makourk, the developments of the political situation in Iraq and the region.

A statement by the VP office cited “Khuzayi received at his office in Baghdad, the senior Undersecretary of the US Secretary of State, where they discussed the political situation in Iraq and the regional events in presence of the US embassy charge d’affaires and a number of the Iraqi Presidency’s advisors.”

Makourk expressed his country’s welcoming to “the convergence happening among the Iraqi political leaders, appreciating the Iraqi VP’s releasing for a code of honor which helped alleviate the tensions and paved way to resolve the crisis in Iraq.”

“For his part, Khuzaye stressed his willingness to continue dialogue with all the political sides and release the initiative of the chart of honor and the social peace in Iraq, pointing out that “all political sides welcomed the initiative of the code of honor,” the statement concluded.
