Parliamentary committee attributes decline in Iraq Oil exports to deterioration in security situation

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of Oil and Energy Parliamentary Committee, Hassan Wahab, attributed the decline in Iraq Oil exports during last May to the deterioration in security situation in western provinces and instability in weather condition.Wahb reported in statement to IraqiNews.com ”The fluctuations in the world market and the economic recession caused by Arab political revolutions in addition to the instability of weather conditions in Iraq all contributed in reducing Oil exports in last May.””Among the reasons that contributed in declining the Oil exports is the deterioration in security situation in the Iraqi southern provinces which affected Oil exports in Kirkuk province to Turkey,” he added.Governmental officials revealed that the Iraqi Oil exports declined to (2,484) million barrels daily during May after it was (2.6) million barrels daily in April due to slowdown in Oil shipments from Kirkuk province on the background of repeated attacks targeted Oil pipelines and the maintenance work in southern Iraq. \END\
