Iraq, Russia discuss bilateral relations
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The new Ambassador of Iraq to Russia, Ismael Shafeeq discussed with the Deputy Chief of Middle East and North of Africa Department, Vladimir Weftg shovaif, the Iraqi-Russian bilateral relations.
A statement by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry reported “Iraq’s Ambassador to Russia met Vladimir where they discussed means to enhance the bilateral relations between both countries.”
A private report from Moscow to IraqiNews.com mentioned “The Iraqi Ambassador to Russia met on Wednesday, Russia’s permanent representative for Asia Southwest Organization (Asian) the Ambassador, Ivanov Alexander Anatolivch at his office in Russian Foreign Ministry.”
The Russian Ambassador stressed “Russia’s willingness to upgrade the common cooperation and coordination with Iraq to enhance the bilateral relations,” confirming “Iraq is one of the countries which enjoy great potentials and historical relations with Russia.”
For his part, the Iraqi Ambassador highlighted the need to develop the bilateral relations between both countries and encourage the Russian companies to work in Iraq esepicially in the oil, electricity, education and transportation sectors.
