IS MP rules out settling pending issues between Baghdad and Erbil

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Abdul Dhiyab al-Ajili of the Iraqiya Slate ruled out possibility of resolving the pending issues between Baghdad government and Kurdistan Regional Government during the expected meeting of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki and Kurdistan Region President, Masoud Barzani.

Maliki has arrived to Erbil this morning to hold the regular session of the Cabinet there and then to meet Barzani to discuss the pending issues.

Ajili state to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “I do not think the two sides will be able to settle the pending issues during Maliki’s visit to Erbil as those problems are complicated and dated back to 2003.”

“The supreme interest of the country necessitates making concessions by the political sides and showing good will to be able to settle the problems,” he stressed.

The regular session of the Council of Ministers started on Sunday morning in Erbil, as planned.
