Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Sami al-Askari of the State of Law Coalition described the current events in Turkey as important.

Ankara and many other Turkish cities witness unrest and clashes since 31st of last May between the police and protestors that led to hundreds of deaths and inquiries from the demonstrators who took into street in Istanbul to protest the Turkish government’s decision to uproot the trees from a Taqseem Park to build commercial projects.

Askari told IraqiNews.com “The events in Turkey is crucial as it is the first challenge against the Premier, Rajab Tayib Erdogan’s authority and represents criticism for his internal and external policies for his interferences in the Syrian crisis and the Iraqi affairs.”

“Turkey is important neighboring country for Iraq and its intervention negatively affected the political situation in Iraq and the Baghdad-Erbil relations and made the Kurds move away from Baghdad and come closer to Ankara through opening direct oil pipelines which stands for blatant interference in Iraq’s affairs,” he added.
