UNAMI denies issuing statement over holding meeting between Kobler, Iranian Ambassador

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The United Nations Assistance Mission to Iraq denied issuing a statement over holding a meeting between the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq, Martin Kobler, and the Iranian Ambassador, Hasan Danayi, in Baghdad on Monday.

A statement by UNAMI received by IraqiNews.com quoted the Spokesman of UNAMI as saying “Through a media outlet, we knew about a statement claimed to be issued by UNAMI over holding a meeting between Kobler and Danayi.”

“The Spokesman confirms that this statement is forged,” the statement added.

“The Spokesman calls the media outlets to avoid circulating this statement that aims at achieving wicked ends,” the statement concluded.
