Basra Governor, PC Chairman nominated on Wednesday

Basra (IraqiNews.com) Majid al-Nisirawi, of Basra First Alliance was nominated as the Governor of Basra while Khalaf Abdul Samad of the State of Law Coalition was granted the post of the Chairman of Basra Provincial Council on Wednesday.

A source from Basra First Alliance stated to IraqiNews.com “The final deal was reached among the winning blocs to form the local Government.”

“The deal involved granting the post of the Deputy Chairman of Basra PC to Waleed Katan while the first and second Deputy Governor post will be assumed by Ahrar and Fadhila blocs.”
