Kuwaiti PM: Our visit reflects improvement of Kuwaiti-Iraqi ties

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah arrived in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on an official visit to discuss bilateral ties and promote cooperation Wednesday.

A statement by the Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA) cited “His Highness the Premier was received at Baghdad International Airport by Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq Ali Mohammad Al-Mumen and senior Iraqi officials.”

“Soon after his arrival, the Kuwaiti premier told the press that this visit comes upon an invitation of his Iraqi counterpart to provide an opportunity to discuss pending issues between the two countries and promote bilateral ties,” the statement added.

“The visit also reflects the improvement of the Kuwaiti-Iraqi ties through the past years,” the statement continued.

“Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak wished the neighboring country stability and prosperity,” the statement concluded.

During this visit, HH the Premier is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Financial Minister Mustafa Jassim Al-Shimali, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Minister of Municipal Affairs, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Minister of Communications and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Salim Al-Utheina, Advisor at the Amiri Diwan Mohammad Abdullah Abu Al-Hassan, and Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Khalid Sulaiman Al-Jarallah and other senior officials.
