Deteriorated security situation in Nineveh not to affect its local elections, says Janabi

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Mudhir al-Janabi of the parliament Security & Defense Committee stressed that “The deteriorated security situation in Nineveh province will not affect conducting the local elections in the province.”

Janabi told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The security crisis in Nineveh is not new, but it is there for years,” noting “The elections day will be accompanied by widespread security deployment.”

“The security forces should do their utmost to protect the lives of the citizens while they head to the electoral centers,” he added.
