Kayani: Barzani has no right to nominate for third term according to law

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mohamed Kayani, of the Kurdish opposition Taghyeer bloc confirmed “The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, has not the right to nominate for a third term according to the currently valid law.”

Speaking to IraqiNews.com, he said “All citizens who are equal before the law must adhere to it.”

“The law prohibits nominating for a third term so the law must be respected,” he added.

“The main problem is that mentality that should abide by the laws that all sides are subjected to,” concluded.

Taghyeer Slate assured that all opposition sides in Kurdistan Region met to nominate a compromise candidate for the post of the President.
