Maliki: Iraq aims at doubling its oil, gas production

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, assured that Iraq aims at doubling its production of oil and gas and to conduct a comprehensive reformation for its economy.

A statement by Maliki’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Maliki received the head of City Bank company, which inaugurated an office in Baghdad, at his office on Monday,” noting that “Maliki called the company to have an active role in Iraq.”

“Maliki stressed that Iraq will reform its economy to get a diverse increased resources to help improving all sectors,” the statement added.

“For his part, the head of the company assured that the company intends to be a partner in rebuilding Iraq and improving its economy,” the statement concluded.
