Jaafary describes lifting UN sanctions on Iraq as national achievement

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The heads of the Iraqi National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafary stressed that “Exempting Iraq from the UN Charter’s Seventh Chapter is a national achievement.”

The UN Security Council had voted on relieving Iraq from the UN Charter’s seventh Chapter.

Jaafary said “We would like to commend the United Nations and the Arab League’s sincere role and all the other friendly countries which stood with Iraq to exempt the country from the UN sanctions.”

“This achievement should be reflected positively on Iraq’s foreign and internal policy and all the service, investment and the other sectors,” he added.
