Undersecretary of FM meets with Yemeni Ambassador to Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations within the Foreign Ministry, Nizar Al Khairullah, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen in Baghdad, Zaid Hassan Al Wareeth.

A statement by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry received by IraqiNews.com cited “The two sides discussed the historical relations between the two countries and the means for developing them.”

“Khairullah praised the historical relations and their cultural aspects between the two peoples, wishing the Ambassador of Yemen success in his mission and to overcome the difficulties that face the work of the embassy in coordination with the concerned ministries,” the statement added, noting that “They also discussed the issue of Yemeni prisoners in Iraq and the efforts to find solutions for them in the legal and constitutional framework in the new Iraq.”

“The Yemeni Ambassador expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Iraqi government for its support for the Yemeni people and government throughout history, where they are considered as an evidence of the depth of the historical and social links between the two countries,” the statement concluded.
