Maliki, his Russian counterpart discus mutual cooperation in energy field

(IraqiNews.com) The Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki discussed on Tuesday with his Russian counterpart, Dmitry Medvedev, the mutual cooperation in energy field and developing of the bilateral relations.

Maliki met with his Russian counterpart, on sidelines of Moscow Forum for Gas exporting countries which started on last Monday.

Maliki expressed his gratefulness for Medvedev and the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, for inviting him to participate in the Forum, stressing that Iraq and Russia have great potentials for cooperation in energy and infrastructures sectors and other fields.

For his part, the Russian Prime Minister, confirmed the importance of upgrading the Russian-Iraqi relations, noting “The trade exchange between both countries rose nearly three times since 2001.”
