SIIC, PUK stress necessity of protecting democracy by all

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan stressed the necessity of protecting democracy by all sides.

A statement by the PUK received by IraqiNews.com cited “The Deputy Secretary General of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Kosrat Rassul Ali, received Adel Abdulmahdi, the leader with the SIIC.

“In the meeting, the two sides discussed the major changes of the region where they agreed upon settling all the issues that Iraq has faced with peaceful steps and discussions,” the statement added.

“The relations between central government of Iraq and Kurdistan Region Government were also discussed during the meeting,” the statement pointed out, noting that “The two sides assured strengthening the relations between PUK and SIIC.”
