Kurdistan Region parliament Speaker, Italian Consul discuss common cooperation

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Kurdistan Region parliament Speaker, Arsalan Bayez assured that “The Kurdistan Region is practicing new democratic and economic experience in the region with support of advanced countries.”

Bayez said while welcoming the Italian Consul in Erbil, Carmelo Vekara, “Our relations with Italy scored advanced levels and we hope continuity for the progress because Kurdistan Region needs the support of advanced democratic countries in the Region’s new democratic experience.”

The Kurdistan Region parliament Speaker called the Italian parliament to follow example of the European countries which confessed the former regime’s crimes against the Kurdish people as genocides, so as to prevent repetition of such crimes in the future

For his part the Italian Consul said “I’m working at the Italian embassy in Baghdad since three years and I’m closely observing the progress Kurdistan achieved, therefore, we do not want to restrict our relations with the Region in the economic side, but we wish to expand our cooperation in other fields such as the health and culture sectors and, so on.”
