IHEC: Assigning centers for sorting & counting of votes to Kurdistan Region coming elections to eliminate forgery

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Independent High Electoral Commission described its procedures concerning assigning special centers for counting and sorting g processes for the Kurdistan Region’s parliament elections as to ensure fair and transparent elections and to eliminate the forgery.

The IHEC had decided to conduct the sorting and counting of votes at five centers in each province of Kurdistan Region instead of conducting those processes at the same polling centers.

The Commissioners Board’s Deputy Chief, Gatea al-Zawbae told Iraqi News “The IHEC has the right to set measures for its work , so it is the Commission’s right to issue such instructions which do not contradict with any other law.”

The Kurdistan Region Presidency had called the IHEC to conduct the sorting and counting of votes at the same polling centers.
