Legal Expert: Postponing Kurdistan Region elections within authorities of Kurdistan RegionG

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Legal Expert, Mohammed al-Samarai, stated that postponing the local and parliamentary elections of Kurdistan Region is within the authorities of the Kurdistani Regional Government.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, he said “The decision over postponing Kurdistan Region elections is within the authorities of the Kurdistan RegionG where it has the Independent High Electoral Commission has to request it over postponing the elections and the final decision will be to the Kurdistan RegionG.”

“The IHEC is responsible for holding the elections in all over Iraq by conducting the artistic and logistic preparations according to the constitution and Article (4) of the law of the IHEC in 2007,” he concluded.
