Maliki instructs to summon Iraqi Deputy Ambassador to KSA

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to summon the Iraqi Deputy Minister in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Maad al-Ubaidi, on Saturday.

A statement by Maliki’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Maliki instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to summon Ubaidi to investigate him for his for his sectarian statements and to punish him in case he proved to abuse Shiite.”

“Maliki confirmed that unity of Iraq is not to be represented by such figures,” the statement concluded.

It is worth mentioning that in press statements, Ubaidi describes the rituals of the Shiite Muslims as “Nonsense.”

Earlier, Member of the Committee Asma al-Musawi stated to the Al Iraq News Agency “Such statements are rejected and the committee will submit a memorandum to demand the Foreign Ministry to investigate the reliability of these statements and realize the reasons behind it,” noting that “This official will be punished severely because he made use of the Iraqi Diplomacy to discuss stimulating and queer ideas.”
