3 soldiers killed, officer injured northern Tikrit

Salah il-Din (IraqiNews.com) Four army elements were killed and injured on Saturday due to an Improvised Explosive Device explosion on their patrol to the north of Tikrit.

Security source told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “An IED that was emplaced on a roadside in Jameela village of Shurqat district associated to Tikrit, exploded this morning targeting army patrol, resulted in killing three soldiers and injuring an officer as well as causing material damages to their vehicle.”

“Security force transported the injured officer to a hospital and the dead bodies to the morgue,” the source added.
