S.Korean Com. contracts to develop Ukais gas field

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Korean Company (Daewoo) for Engineering and Construction concluded a contract of USD (709) million to develop Ukais Gas field in Anbar province.The Secretary General of the Council of Ministries, Ali al-Allaq, reported in press statement ”The S Korean com. will assume all the engineering and construction works required to develop the gas field including to establish pipes network in the gas field.”The Iraqi Government referred that the priority in using the gas will be in generating electricity power, though there is a potential to export some of it after meeting all the local needs. \END\
