Maliki instructs Baghdad OC to launch raids, search campaigns in Baghdad[08/01/2013]

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Commander General for Armed Forces, Nouri al-Maliki instructed the Ground Forces Command, Baghdad Operations Command and the Anti-Terrorism Department to launch raids and search campaigns in some areas in Baghdad and its outskirts.

The Secretary General of the Patriotic Sons of Iraq Coalition, Abbas al-Mohamedaw said earlier that “The majority of Abu Ghraib prison’s escapees were captured except a few of them escaped to Syria while others are still hiding in different areas of Baghdad and its outskirts.”

A statement by Baghdad OC mentioned “Maliki instructed the Ground Forces Command, Baghdad PC, and Anti-Terrorism Dept to start raids and search campaigns to track down wanted people.”

“The search campaigns are backed by Helicopters to impose control over the areas within Baghdad OC’s responsibility and the adjacent areas,” the statement added.
