PUK: Masoum expresses readiness to replace Talabani

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Kurdistani Alliance Parlaimentary bloc, Foad Masoum, expressed his readiness to replace the President, Jalal Talabani, in case the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan requested him to do so.

The leader within the PUK, Fareed Israd, stated to IraqiNews.com “There are candidates who can replace Talabani if the political sides in Baghdad ask for a substitute.”

“During its former meetings, the PUK nominated Barham Salih to replace Talabani,” he added.

“The talk about replacing Talabani is an indication of his health deterioration,” he concluded.
