Motahidoun MP rules out nominating Maliki for 3rd term as PM

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mohammed Eqbal, of Motahidoun Alliance headed by the parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, ruled out nominating the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, for the 3rd term as the Prime Minister of Iraq.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, he said “Nominating Maliki for the third term is related to Limiting the Terms of the Three Presidencies law draft that must be endorsed by the parliament,” noting that “The Federal Court did not reject this law draft according to the request of the State of Law Coalition.”

“The political blocs agreed upon changing the key officials and the policies in the next terms and we do not want a third term to Maliki,” he concluded.
