Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to dismiss the second secretary at the Iraqi Embassy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Maad al-Ubaidi, from the Ministry due to violating the policy and instructions of the Ministry in regard to dealing with media and giving bad statements that abuse a sect from the Iraqi Community.

A statement by the Ministry received by IraqiNews.com cited Thursday “The Ministry investigated the irresponsible statements given by the Iraqi diplomat Maad al-Ubaidi to the Saudi Sharq newspaper which violate the his duties and harm a great portion of the Iraqi people.”

“The Ministry always instructs to avoid the statements and acts that arouse sectarian disputes among the different communities of the Iraqi people and rejects attempts to violate the national goals stated by the Iraqi constitution,” the statement added.

“The Ministry finally decided to dismiss the diplomat Maad al-Ubaidi from the ministry for being involved in giving bad statements that abuse a large community of the Iraqi people,” the statement concluded.

The Iraqi Prime Minister has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to investigate the Diplomat Maad al-Ubaidi on the background of his statements to the Saudi Sharq Newspaper in which he severely attacked the rituals and believes of the Shiite Sect in Iraq.
