Maliki meets Indian Foreign Minister in New Delhi

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki received at his residence in New Delhi on Friday the Indian Foreign Minister Salman Khorsheed to discuss the means of developing the mutual relations and increasing cooperation between Iraq and India in different fields.

PM Maliki assured for the Indian FM that “Iraq seeks developing relations with India in two sides the first is related to the democratic experience of the Indian People and the second is related to cooperation in developing economy and infra structure.”

He added “The Iraqi-Indian relations go back to 1947 and both countries exchanged ambassadors in 1950.”

For his part, the Indian FM Khorsheed emphasized the great will of his country to develop the mutual relations with Iraq in all fields.
