Parliamentary energy committee to hold meeting in Basra

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Oil and Energy Parliamentary Committee, Suzan al-Saad, assured that “The Committee will hold its next meeting over evaluating the energy sector in Basra province with attendance of all its members.”

MP Saad mentioned in a statement to IraqiNews.com “Choosing Basra as a location for holding the next meeting of the Energy Committee comes because Basra is the Economic Capital of Iraq and hosts the major companies of oil and gas as well as refineries in addition to electric power stations.”

MP Suzan al-Saad, from Basra province, added “The committee will hold a series of meetings with the officials of the energy sector as well as representatives of foreign companies operating in the province to reveal a lot of facts in this important sector,” noting that “The committee will also meet the Governor and members of Basra Provincial Council and will conduct field visits on many energy stations in the province.”
